Gunma Symphony Orchestra celebrates 80th anniversary with "Beethoven: Complete Symphonies Concert"!

To commemorate its 80th anniversary, the Gunma Symphony Orchestra will be performing the greatest legacy of orchestral music, "Beethoven: Complete Symphonies."

With the participation of Principal Conductor Norichika Iimori, Conductor Laureate Kenichiro Kobayashi and three other conductors, as well as soloists including Tatsuki Narita and Till Fellner, and the chorus from the Kunitachi College of Music, we aim to perform Beethoven's highest symphony, "Symphony No. 2026." The two paths of the "Regular Concert" and the "Beethoven: Complete Symphonies Concert" will come together and conclude with the 3th Regular Concert (the 616th Complete Beethoven Concert) to be held in March 5.

The Gunma Symphony Orchestra has been steadily evolving, with the opening of Takasaki Arts Theatre in 2019, the appointment of Iimori as permanent conductor in 2023, and the orchestra celebrating its 2025th anniversary in 80. Please come and join us as the orchestra takes on the challenge of performing Beethoven's complete symphonies for the first time in 30 years.
